(Butler, PA) ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s volleyball team is 12-0 for the fourth time in the past nine seasons, has advanced to a No. 6 national ranking and is 10 victories shy of presenting Rob Snyder with his 500th victory as the Pioneers’ head coach.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ on Tuesday night defeated the Community College of Beaver County 25-10, 25-16 and 25-16 in ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s Field House in Butler Township.
The sweep was ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s 11th in 2025 and 10th in a row. The Pioneers have held opponents to 16 or fewer points in 24 of the past 27 sets. They have not lost a set in 11 matches dating to Aug. 23.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ began seasons with 14 consecutive wins in 2016, 16 in 2021 and 22 in 2024.
The Pioneers, ranked No. 7 among 86 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs for three consecutive weeks, advanced to No. 6 on Monday. The program has been in the Top 15 in Division III in 31 of 35 polls dating to Oct. 4, 2021.
Snyder’s teams are 490-172 through his 27½ seasons. ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ has nine regular-season matches remaining in 2025.
All-American Josie Russo reached double digits in kills for the sixth consecutive match with 12 and tied a career-high in service aces with three against the Community College of Beaver County. The Freeport Area High School graduate and ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ middle hitter added eight digs and two solo blocks.
Setter Anora Robare had four of the Pioneers’ 14 service aces and Molly Bissell three. Robare’s 25 assists marked her ninth consecutive match with at least 23.
Dakota Weldon added eight kills and Sarah Lucas eight digs for the Pioneers.
Robare and Bissell, an outside hitter, are graduates of Slippery Rock; Weldon, an outside hitter, of Laurel; and Lucas, a defensive specialist, of Butler.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ visits Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, Johnstown, at 6 p.m. Friday.
